Shaving Cream Numbers
Here's What To Do

Tell your child that they will be writing numbers using shaving cream.

They can write the numbers 0-5 in order or out of order.

Say, let's write the number zero and write a zero in the shaving cream. Have your child do the same.

Repeat for all numbers 0-5.

Pause:
- Place shaving cream on a clean table top or countertop and invite your child to spread the shaving cream to create a writing surface.

Engage:
- Ask questions about the lines and curves used to write the numbers. “I see you wrote the number one, does that have straight lines or curved lines?”
- I want you to write a number that has both lines and curves.

Encourage:
- Write one number at a time and describe how you wrote it.
- Invite your child to trace your number and then write their own.

- “What number did you like to write the most?”
