Tell your child that they can make art with their name.

They can write their name, and then make art around their name using the different art supplies.

It’s ok if their name isn’t written perfectly, they’re practicing.

You can write their name on a separate piece of paper so they can look at it as they write.

  • Open and close your hands and wiggle your fingers together to warm them up.

Engage:

  • “Your name is beautiful and special to you!”
  • “You can make name art by writing your name. Then, make designs or whatever you want around it!”

Encourage:

  • Write your child’s name and describe how to write each letter.
  • Invite your child to use their finger to touch and trace each letter before trying to write the letter.

Reflect:

  • “Where do you want us to put your beautiful name art?”
