Let’s Find Out About Project

Here's What To Do

1

Help your child to engage in a simple project to find out more about a question they have, or a topic they are interested in learning about.

2

Start by choosing a topic they’re interested in. Then, help your child to come up with some questions they want to answer about the topic.

3

Brainstorm ways to answer the questions. For example:

  • If your child has questions about a specific animal you can check out related books from the library and visit a location like a zoo that might have that animal
  • If they want to know about different jobs or careers, they can interview neighbors with related professions
  • If they want to learn about skyscrapers, they can visit skyscrapers if there are some nearby, and use blocks and other materials such as paper towel rolls to explore how to design and build their own.
4

After, talk together about the questions you’ve answered together.

Not quite ready?

Help your child to brainstorm simple questions that can be investigated or researched more easily.

Ready for more?

Extend the project by encouraging your child to think of follow-up questions they’d like to ask based on the new knowledge they’ve learned.
