Family Talent Show

Here's What To Do

1

Have a talent show with your family! Anything that someone is proud they can do is a talent!

2

Each family member can share or show one of their talents.

  • You can even teach each other a talent!
  • Celebrate together!
3

Mother and child play together (animated).

Put PEER Into Action

P

Pause:

  • Take a few deep breaths and stretch together as a family to get focused before the show. You can also decorate together if you’d like.
E

Engage:

  • “Let’s have a family talent show!”
  • “Each person can share about, or show something they’re proud they can do!”
E

Encourage:

  • Demonstrate how to share a talent to help your child understand what they can do.
  • Help your child to brainstorm and practice something they can do.
R

Reflect:

  • “How did it make you feel to share your talent with your family?”

Not quite ready?

Instead of a talent show, each person can talk about something they are proud of. If it is challenging for your child to identify something, highlight one of their accomplishments. “Yesterday, you put your sneakers on by yourself. You kept practicing and now you can do it!”

Ready for more?

Your child can also share about something they are excited to learn or try doing.
