Here's What To Do

Think about all of your baby’s wonderful attributes!

Create a short song of 3-5 lines about your baby, including their name. Don't worry about your ability to sing!

Sing this special song to your baby every day.

After repeating the song for a week or two, see if your baby seems to recognize the song.
Put PEER Into Action

Pause:
- Give your baby a hug.

Engage:
- What are some special traits you have noticed about your baby? Include them in the song.
- Example simple song: "Ava, my smiley girl. You like it when we dance and twirl. You like it when mama sings. So much happiness you bring!"

Encourage:
- Is your baby cooing and making sounds while you sing? Repeat their sounds along with singing the song.
- If your baby recognizes the song, they may turn to look at you, move their body, or make sounds. Encourage them by saying, "That's right, you know this song!"

Reflect:
- What are your baby’s expressions when you sing this song?
