Learning to Wave Bye-Bye
- Let me see and hear you wave "bye-bye" in a variety of situations throughout the day.
- Play a "bye-bye" game when putting away toys. Say "bye-bye" to each toy as you put it away, and encourage me to wave bye-bye.
- When you see me wave bye-bye in an appropriate situation, celebrate!

Playground Positions
- Bring a small toy to the playground.
- Ask your child to cover their eyes. Hide the toy somewhere on the playground.
- Help your child find the toy using positional words. (examples: above/below, in front/behind, between, next to, inside/outside, over/under, near/far, top/bottom).
- Repeat!
Health & Wellness
Hot, Cold, Sweet, and Sour
- Try a tasting experiment with me!
- First, give me something that's warm, and something that's cold. Encourage me to put these in my mouth and feel the different temperatures. Examples:
- A piece of fruit or vegetable straight from the fridge, and a piece that's been warmed for a few seconds in the microwave or on the stove
- A washcloth wet with cold water, a washcloth wet with warm water
- Next, give me one food that's sweet and one that's sour. Encourage me to taste them.
- Sweet examples: fruit, applesauce, baby food
- Sour examples: lemon, lime, grapefruit
- If I'm having fun with this tasting game, help me taste condiments with different spices. Examples:
- Ketchup, mustard, mild salsa or hot sauce, soy sauce, or whatever's in your fridge!
