Healthy Habits Charades

Here's What To Do

1

With your family, play “healthy habits charades” by acting out different healthy habits while others take turns guessing.

2

Here are some suggestions

  • Brush teeth
  • Wash hands
  • Cough or sneeze into an elbow
  • Going for a walk
3

See how many different healthy habits your child can recognize or act out. Keep adding more each time that you play!

Put PEER Into Action

P

Pause:

  • Do a quick wiggle/jiggle dance before you get started!
E

Engage:

  • “Let’s play charades and act out healthy habits. We’ll take turns acting while the others guess.”
  • “How many different healthy habits do you think we can come up with today? Can you think of more than three?”
E

Encourage:

  • Give your child clues to help them guess.
  • Before the game starts, help them to brainstorm some things they can choose to act out when it’s their turn.
R

Reflect:

  • “What can we do to help us stay healthy?”

Not quite ready?

Review the actions and healthy habits first before playing the game.

Ready for more?

After guessing, your child can explain why that healthy habit is important and when they might do that action.
